Developed as part of the SPS Blue Nile project, the paper examines existing systems and practices for disseminating climate and weather forecasts. Based on an assessment of current strengths and weaknesses, it provides practical and forward-looking recommendations to improve the effectiveness, accessibility, and impact of forecast dissemination. The publication is the result of close collaboration with regional partners, including the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), the World Meteorological Organisation, and national meteorological services.
