ENRUC Network third webinar: “Sustainable Water Management and Agricultural Productivity in the Eastern Nile Basin: Innovations and Challenges”

This webinar on sustainable water management and agricultural productivity in the Eastern Nile Basin featured presentations on innovative strategies for enhancing rural economic growth through energy-efficient water innovations in the Nile Delta, emphasizing Solar-Powered Irrigation Systems (SPIS) and Modern Irrigation Systems (MIS). Dr. Makram Belhaj Farj delivered the first presentation, focusing on energy-efficient water innovations in the Nile Delta, which was part of an IWMI project. Dr. Youssef Brouziyne, the Country Representative for Egypt and Regional Representative for MENA at IWMI, facilitated the connection for this , and we extend our gratitude to him for his support. The second presentation given by Dr. Saher Ayyad‘ and titled “Catalyzing rural economic growth through energy-efficient water innovation: A market ecosystem analysis in the Nile Delta,” likely expanded on similar themes, focusing on market ecosystem analysis for water innovation technologies in the Nile Delta regions.
