Water Resources Modeling and Drought Assessment for Data-Scarce Regions (WDA2026)
Within the framework of the ENRUC project, the Faculty of Spatial Development and Infrastructure Systems at TH Köln, University of Applied Sciences Cologne – Germany, in collaboration with the University of Khartoum, Sudan, successfully organized an online training program titled “Water Resources Modeling and Drought Assessment for Data-Scarce Regions (WDA2026)”.

Water Resources Modeling for Data-Scarce Regions
Within the framework of the ENRUC project, the Faculty of Spatial Development and Infrastructure Systems at TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences, in collaboration with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), organized an online introductory training on Water Accounting Plus (WA+) on 2 and 10 December 2025. The two-day training targeted early-career professionals and researchers from Nile Basin countries working in water and environmental fields and was delivered in English.

In September 2025, The Faculty of Spatial Development and Infrastructure Systems at the University of Applied Sciences Cologne (TH Köln) in collaboration with the University of Khartoum organized a focused online training titled “Water Resources Modeling for Data-Scarce Regions (WRM2025)” within the framework of the Eastern Nile Basin Research Universities and Centers (ENRUC) network. The two-session training brought together 21 young professionals from nine Nile riparian countries, providing a valuable platform for capacity building in hydrological modeling under conditions of limited data availability.

RiverWare training
In May 2021, the ENRUC network in cooperation with the University of Colorado Boulder organized a 6 full-day days training class for 24 participants on the flexible RiverWare software and models developed for the Eastern Nile Basin.
