Cologne University of Applied Sciences, officially called TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences (German: Technische Hochschule Köln, abbreviated TH Köln) is an institute of higher education located in Cologne, Germany, established in 1971. It was created from a merger of numerous smaller colleges, the oldest of which was the Royal Provincial Trade School, founded in 1833, and renamed Trade College of the City of Cologne on 15 December 1879.

TH Köln is the largest University of Applied Sciences in Germany by number of students, having about 23,500 students and 430 professors and headquartered in Cologne Südstadt. The TH Köln offers a total of 100 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in full.
The Institute for Technology and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics (ITT) at TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences in Cologne, Germany, is dedicated to advancing sustainable resource management through interdisciplinary education and research. ITT offers Master’s programs in fields such as Integrated Water Resources Management, Natural Resources Management, and Renewable Energy Management, integrating engineering, natural sciences, economics, and social sciences. With a strong focus on international collaboration, the institute engages in global research projects and capacity-building initiatives aimed at promoting innovative solutions for resource conservation and sustainable development in tropical and subtropical regions.

The University of Khartoum (U of K) (Arabic: جامعة الخرطوم) is a public university located in Khartoum, Sudan. It is the largest and oldest university in Sudan. UofK was founded as Gordon Memorial College in 1902 and established in 1956 when Sudan gained independence. Since that date, the University of Khartoum has been recognized as a top university and a high-ranked academic institution in Sudan and Africa.
